Welcome to the second issue of LDTP Newsletter! This newsletter throws light on various community activities involving LDTP like new features and automation scripts available with the latest release, major bug fixes etc.. It also includes latest news on our approach towards achieving an automated test engine. Useful references have been included at the end of this article for those who wish to hack/use LDTP.

LDTP is now at version 0.1.8. You can download it from here.

Releases: This release includes the following

  • LDTP has been ported to Solaris 10 (Nagappan 'nags' and Harry 'haip')
  • Record module has also been ported to Solaris 10 ( Shaheed 'Shaheed')
  • New text related component functions for precise handling of text using LDTP. (Premkumar 'prem')
  • Evolution Calendar sanity scripts for
           + Creation and verification of appointment (Premkumar 'prem')
           + Creation and verification of meeting (Premkumar 'prem')
           + Creation and configuration of web calendar (Premkumar 'prem')

Major Bug Fixes:

  • Searching has been refined ( Nagappan 'nags' )
  • Bugs found in text related component functions like cuttext, deletetext etc., have been fixed (Premkumar 'prem')
  • Crasher bugs found in other component functions like getcellvalue, stoplog etc., have been fixed (Premkumar 'prem')


Taking the right step forward . . .

We are happy to inform that the community has been kept busy for the last few weeks especially because of following few reasons ...

  • A dot release for every fortnight has been assured
  • Every Wednesday at 16:30 IST (GMT +5:30) the entire LDTP team meets for a community meeting in the IRC channel #ldtp at irc.gimp.org. All the discussions are logged and they can be accesed here
  • LDTP has been added to bugzilla.gnome.org
  • 'TODO page' approach of LDTP related activities which helps us to maintain a clear road map to the future ... You can access the TODO page from here

LDTP community is speeding up its develpoments with all necessary resources getting in place especially in the last few weeks. As result we hope to see more and more developments in the future ....
